Terms of Service
This document is a starting template prepared in good faith. Replace the bracketed placeholders and have it reviewed by a qualified legal professional before launch.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the TaskToss website, waitlist, and app (together, the "Service"), operated by [Your registered company name] ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.
1. The waitlist
Joining the waitlist means you'd like to be notified when TaskToss launches. It does not guarantee access, pricing, or any particular feature. We may close, change, or prioritise the waitlist at our discretion. You can leave at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails.
2. Your account
To use the app you'll create an account using your phone number. You're responsible for keeping access to your number and account secure, and for the activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use TaskToss.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use TaskToss to:
- Send unwanted, harassing, threatening, or abusive content to others.
- Break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or violate anyone's privacy.
- Upload malware, attempt to disrupt the Service, or access it in unauthorised ways.
- Misrepresent who you are or impersonate someone else.
Tossing a task to someone is an invitation, not an obligation on them. Respect the recipient's choice to decline, and respect each person's privacy settings for who may toss them tasks.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the tasks, notes, and other content you create. You grant us the limited licence needed to host and display that content so the Service works — for example, to deliver a task you toss to the person you send it to. We don't claim ownership of your content and we don't sell it.
5. Subscriptions (TaskToss Plus)
TaskToss offers a free tier and a paid subscription, TaskToss Plus. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or our web payment provider, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your app store account settings or, for web purchases, as described at checkout. Free-trial and refund terms follow the relevant store's policies and applicable consumer law.
6. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep TaskToss running, but we provide the Service "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for tasks that are missed, declined, or completed late. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
8. Termination
You can stop using TaskToss and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to us.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [England and Wales / your jurisdiction], and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
